MP Maureen Namwali Urges Beneficiaries to Use FISP Fertilizer Responsibly and Engages Constituency Stakeholders for Development Way Forward
Following the parliament adjournment, Honorable Maureen Namwali member of parliament for Thyolo-Goliati Constituency supervised the selling and buying of Farm Inputs Subsidy Programme (FISP) , a key DPP party manifesto promise, making it accessible to community members at K10,000 a bag of fertilizer, boosting agricultural production and food security.
"This marks the beginning of food abundance, as our lands depend on fertilizer to produce enough food," Hon Namwali said, hailing the initiative as a significant step towards food abundance.
However, the MP has advised beneficiaries to use the fertilizer responsibly and warned vendors against illegal buying and selling, saying they will face legal action if caught.
Hon Namwali has been engaging stakeholders to drive development in Thyolo-Goliati. She met with the disability grouping chair to discuss support for people with disabilities, focusing on schools, materials, and loans for economic empowerment.
Village heads appreciated the fertilizer initiative, requesting more beneficiaries to combat hunger.
