Don't sell the maize aid

MP Maureen Namwali has advised maize beneficiaries not to sell the aid, saying it's meant to reduce hunger crisis in the country. Hon. Maureen Namwali, Thyolo-Goliati MP, urged her constituency people to use the maize aid accordingly, citing over 12,000 people in her constituency are affected. Speaking during the Department of Disaster Management maize relief donation to 1,800 people at Milonga Technical College in Thyolo, Namwali said the government is doing great work to sustain people from hunger, but there's a need to use the aid wisely. "My people, don't sell the maize, it has been donated to reduce hunger in our community, inline with our President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika's manifesto that no one in this country will die of hunger," Hon. Namwali said. Village Chief Semu of Traditional Authority Ngolongoliwa said the aid was timely and will positively impact the hunger crisis, urging local leaders to ensure nobody sells the maize relief, and requested more aid to support them. Thyolo District is among those declared hunger-stricken districts.
