Christmas celebration in Thyolo-Goliati

Hon. Maureen Namwali brought Christmas cheer to her constituency, Thyolo-Goliati, with a celebration for 195 elders. Today, Weasday December 24, 2025, the MP for Thyolo Goliati Constituency Honorable Maureen Namwali cheered 15 elders from each of the 13 zones with essentials as part of Christmas celebrations. Hon. Namwali said elders are the roots of the community, so there's a need to support them mentally and financially as they face challenges like sickness, abuse, and poverty. "The Lord has made this day for us to thank Him for the gift of life. I'm disappointed when you're abused in the community. This won't happen in my area," she said. Village Chief Phodogoma praised Namwali's invite to the elderly as a sign of humanity and spreading love during the festive season. Gogo Maligalita Masikini from Misewu 4 thanked the MP for the support, including maize flour, soap, relish, and a blanket.
